We've been having the most beautiful weather in Ohio this week. A far, far cry from the cold blustery winds and springtime snow we had less than two weeks ago, that's for sure! La Ciudad recipe from Tequila Herradura


LA CIUDAD
Ingredients 

  • 2 parts Tequila Herradura Anejo 
  • ½ part Sweet Vermouth (Carpano Antica) 
  • ½ part Ancho Chili Liqueur 
  • 3 dashes Chocolate Bitters 

Preparation 
Combine all the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, stir, then strain into coupe glass. Garnish with 2 brandy cherries.

March 27 is National Whiskey Day

National Whiskey Day is almost upon us! If you are looking to celebrate this most auspicious of occasions on March 27, there are a number of ways to partake. If you live or work in any of the following areas, be sure to stop in for an Easter cocktail. La Fortuna cocktail recipe from Tequila Herradura

Looking for a new cocktail to try out as the spring weather continues to warm? This recipe from Tequila Herradura features their silver blend tequila and pomegranate juice for a refreshing cocktail that is perfect for the warmer days that are just around the corner.

LA FORTUNA (THE FORTUNE) 
Ingredients 
2 parts Tequila Herradura Silver
1 part Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
½ - ¾ part Agave Nectar (to taste)
1 part Pomegranate Juice

Preparation 
Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake hard so that some of the ice melts, then strain over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Celebrate National Cocktail Day at Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar

While many are gearing up for tomorrow's St. Patrick's Day celebrations and an over abundance of green beer, another alcohol based holiday is literally right around the corner: National Cocktail Day. National Cocktail Day is celebrated on March 24th (next Thursday) and it promises to be a delicious day indeed! Folks living, working and travelling through the New York City area are encouraged to drop by Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar and enjoy one of their many cocktails. From the classic mojito to a tropics infused punch, Tommy Bahama is known for their mouth watering cocktails. For those wanting to try something new, the Rum Babalu features sweet maple syrup blended with lime juice, rum, ginger beer and bitters. If you can't make it to the Big Apple to celebrate in person, Tommy Bahama was gracious enough to share the recipe for their signature cocktail so I can share it with all of you!



Tommy Bahama Rum Babalu
Glassware Double Rocks
Ice Cubes
Garnish Orange peel
  • 2 parts Kirk and Sweeney 12 Year Rum
  • ¾ part fresh lime juice
  • ½ part maple syrup
  • 1 part ginger beer
  • 1 dash of Angostura bitters
Instructions
Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass except the ginger beer. Add ice and shake with a Boston shaker. Strain over fresh ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with an orange peel.
